GORL — Global Ontological Reasoning Layer

A reasoning layer for semantic interoperability and verifiable communication in trustworthy multi-agent conversational AI.

Overview

The Global Ontological Reasoning Layer (GORL) is the core of my PhD research at Robert Gordon University. It targets semantic interoperability in multi-agent conversational AI — giving heterogeneous agents a shared, structured way to represent, exchange, and reason over knowledge.

Research directions

  • Structured knowledge representation that lets independent agents align meaning rather than just exchange text.
  • Provenance tracking so the origin and trustworthiness of each claim can be audited.
  • Verifiable agent communication, making multi-agent reasoning more transparent and reliable.

Goal

Trustworthy multi-agent systems where reasoning is grounded, traceable, and interoperable — a foundation for safe, collaborative AI.
